Specialising in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, Gabrielle is an APRA registered physiotherapist and APA member. With a keen interest in pre and post-operative care, and experience as an inpatient physiotherapist her passion is acquiring and implementing knowledge and the best evidence-based practice. She has a strong passion in sports physiotherapy having worked at a state and national representative level in Netball, Volleyball, Beach Volleyball and Rugby Union. Gabrielle also has experience in Women’s Health and pelvic floor muscle retraining. Gabrielle is able to incorporate hands-on treatment, dry needling, exercise rehabilitation and her experience as a clinical Pilate’s instructor into her treatment. Gabrielle bases her practice on goal-oriented treatment to reduce pain and achieve outcomes that are meaningful to each individual patient.
Having worked in hospital and private practice settings for the last decade, Elise provides all general physiotherapy services including treatment of all muscle and tendon injuries, joint mobilization, post-operative rehabilitation, core exercise programs, strengthening/stretching programs, strapping, soft tissue massage, dry needling, postural advice, and boot fitting.
Having played water polo for Australia at Olympic level, Elise has also developed a specialist sporting practice. She has worked with state and national sporting teams and elite athletes (Water Polo, Gymnastics, Tennis, Softball, Swimming and Track &m Field).
Elise well understands the treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, injury rehabilitation and prevention, and provides a hands-on, holistic approach. Elise is available at St Vincent’s Clinic on Mondays.
Specialising in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, Sophie completed her earlier clinical years in Victoria which involved a broad range of exposure to sports physiotherapy, inpatient physiotherapy and the private practice setting. Sophie has a strong interest in sports physiotherapy having worked at a state and national representative level in hockey and Australian Rules Football.
Passionate about approaching patients with a holistic and evidence-based view, Sophie is able to incorporate manual therapy, dry-needling, strength and conditioning rehabilitation and Pilate’s into her treatment. You’ll find Sophie to be an enthusiastic and motivating physiotherapist with a passion for achieving optimal patient outcomes and care.
Cardio-Respiratory & Sleep Therapy Team
Cathy has had an interest in cardio respiratory physiotherapy for most of her career and spent a good deal of that career on or as a part of the St Vincent’s transplant team, and then as part of the Intensive Care team at St Vincent’s Private Hospital.
Now, she works out of St Vincent’s Clinic treating respiratory outpatients, doing individualised pulmonary rehabilitation programmes and home visits. Her special interest is non-invasive ventilation and titration and management of CPAP and Bi-level devices for Sleep Disordered Breathing and teaching self-management of chronic conditions such as bronchiectasis.
Stephanie Van Hilten
Stephanie graduated from Sydney University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. She has spent the majority of her 30 year career working in the cardiothoracic field, in Sydney at Concord and St Vincent’s Hospitals and in London at the Royal Brompton Hospital.
Stephanie has experience in intensive care, cardiac and transplant areas, in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, physiotherapy management of chronic lung disease and treatment of patients with sleep disordered breathing.
Thelma is a highly experienced senior lymphoedema therapist with particular expertise in the management of complex upper limb and lower limb oedema, including post-surgical oedema and lymphoedema following cancer surgery. Thelma also has a strong interest in lymphoedema education and prevention. Following undergraduate training, Thelma completed her Master of Occupational Therapy from Sydney University in 2000. She gained considerable experience in oncology and palliative care working alongside leading clinicians in one of Sydney’s biggest academic oncology units. She has completed the highest level of specialised training in Lymphoedema Therapy and has comprehensively utilised advanced modalities such as laser therapy and bioelectrical impedance since their earliest clinical release. Thelma is a member of numerous professional bodies including the Australian OTA (Occupational Therapy Association) and ALA (Australasian Lymphology Association) and brings with her over 16 years experience.
